Jack Marber Worsley - 3AM
I get a high from being a ‘nightcrawler’ - going out into the night’s deserted environments, an uninhibited exploration. I set out to explore North Somerset’s Ashton at night, photographing lone trees and empty landscapes, projecting feelings of alienation and dejectedness onto the landscape. The dimly lit, low contrast black and white photos of the first half of the project reflects my solitude, suffering in silence.
Photographed with a long exposure, the landscape appears bright, as if in daytime, but the bright city lights, stars and moon indicate the night. This fictional mixture of day and night mirrors my own imagined world activated by night, an intoxicating solace in nature.
