Nazar Furyk - Edited

February 25, 2022 by Gergo Farkas

Nazar Furyk is a visual artist and photographer from Ukraine. Born in Kolomyia in 1995. He lives and works in Kyiv. After studying at the Kyiv College of Architecture and Design and engineering sciences at the Šiauliai State University (Lithuania), He now works as a freelance photojournalist for Ukrainian and foreign agencies.

“The project is dedicated to my hated and beloved suburbs. Through a metaphysical approach, this series examines the theme of photographic obsession and the tension of everyday life. I was interested in exploring scenes from the daily life of my former residence on the outskirts of the city. In fact, this is the study of the forms of natural space, its interaction with surrounding objects and liquids, where photography highlights a familiar world in unfamiliar variations in front of us. Familiar images suddenly acquire bizarre images due to a "different" view of familiar objects. By creating a parallel reality in space, not destroying real reality, but interacting with it.”
