Valentin Fougeray - Balance II
This second instalment of the ‘Balance’ project is an extension of Valentin Fougeray’s daily research and experimentation. Situated halfway between artistic installations and dreamlike constructions, each visual invites us to lose ourselves amidst its forms and colours, evoking without necessarily representing. The body of images is assembled through explorations and photographic trials. It serves both as a research notebook and a field for free expression. Once again, it explores the paradoxical relationship between the two-dimensionality of photography and its subjects; sometimes transparent, sometimes fluid, or voluminous. This second part maintains the balance and delves deeper into themes such as movement and heterogeneity. The tones harmonize between softness and saturation, accentuating these ambiguities and poetically highlighting the surreal dimension of the series. ‘Balance II’ oscillates between fantasy and reality. Yet again, everything here is still real.
