Josefine Rauch - Temple Road
On the outskirts of Frankfurt, nestled within an industrial area, lies an enclave that undergoes a quiet transformation every Sunday. During the week, the district hums with the activity of a bustling workforce, but on weekends, a different energy emerges.
Within the industrial warehouses, diverse faith communities gather, finding spiritual solace in this unlikely setting. Behind closed doors, unnoticed by much of the city, the plain halls of Temple Road come alive with prayers, weddings, and community activities. Side by side, various independent churches and cultural associations coexist, surrounded by repair shops, office buildings, and one of Germany's largest meat production factories.
While institutionalized churches are prominent fixtures in the urban landscape, these small communities remain hidden, fostering connection and tradition quietly, among themselves.
